Matteo Myderwyk
Based in the Netherlands, Myderwyk has made a name for himself by breaking away from classical conventions.
After training as a concert pianist, he left behind the works of his musical heroes Bach and Liszt to follow a freer, more instinctive path — improvising, composing in the moment,
and building sound worlds from raw emotion rather than written scores.
His unconventional approach has resonated widely. In recent years, he’s been nominated multiple times for the prestigious Edison Award and has performed in some of the Netherlands’ most iconic venues
including Concertgebouw, Paradiso, and TivoliVredenburg. While his studio albums often begin at the piano, his live shows are something else entirely: immersive, unpredictable, and deeply atmospheric. Whether in a concert hall, a club, or a festival tent, Myderwyk’s performances are driven by intuition and curiosity, constantly shifting between textures, tempos, and timbres.
With a growing discography and a sound that appeals to both classical purists and synth lovers, Matteo Myderwyk is carving out a bold new space in the European music scene — where acoustic warmth meets analog grit, and tradition gives way to pure sonic exploration.
Matteo releases his music on the prestigious label Warner Classics.
