Parabel - Vinyl

To fully grasp the concept behind modern composer and pianist Matteo Myderwyk’s album, you really need to have the vinyl version. On the two sides of the record, you’ll find two completely different musical worlds: a piano side and an electronic side. Yet they’re closer together than you might think, because the individual tracks often have a sister track on the other side of the record. To experience that, you have to flip it over first—an action you miss with the digital version of the album, which also mixes up the track order. Parabel is yet another typical Myderwyk concept, perhaps best summarized as musical fraternal twins. “I want my music to be ‘malleable’ enough to be played on different instruments. Not that I want to compare myself to Bach, but his keyboard works sound equally brilliant on the harpsichord, piano, or organ.”
